Visualization depicting initiative counts by type
The total number of reported diversity initiatives along with the percentage breakdown of initiatives by initiative type is shown below. Initiative type refers to a category that best characterizes the initiative. Initiatives may only be categorized as one unique type. Note that percent totals should add up to 100% (barring minor rounding errors). Filter by fiscal year using the year filters.
For example, the ‘School of Pharmacy’ academic unit had 5 initiatives in fiscal year 2016 of which 0% were categorized as ‘Assessment,’ 20% as ‘Event,’ 60% as ‘Program,’ 0% as ‘Research,’ and 20% as ‘Support Services’ type initiatives.
Technical Notes: Data represents those initiatives reported by individual departments in a given fiscal year. All diversity and inclusion initiatives occurring on campus may not be represented in the data set. Initiatives may only be categorized as one unique type. Data is therefore representing a percent total of submitted initiatives by fiscal year.

The graph below shows the total number of reported diversity initiatives aggregated by tag (y-axis) per fiscal year (x-axis). Tags are labels used to group initiatives. More than one tag can be selected per initiative. Different-colored lines represent different tags. Click on the different colors in the legend to add or remove tags from the view. Hover over the graph to see the actual number of initiatives for each tag across time. Filter by targeted populations using the drop-down menu.
For example, initiatives submitted by the ‘School of Pharmacy’ academic unit in fiscal year 2016 had the following tags, in descending order by initiative count: 3 ‘Career/Professional Development’ initiatives, 2 ‘Community Building’ initiatives, and 1 ‘Cultural/Heritage’ initiative.

The total number of reported diversity initiatives aggregated by department is shown below. Initiatives belong to only one department although it may have multiple sponsoring departments. The department responsible for the initiative is represented by each circle. Larger circles correspond to a greater number of initiatives. Different colors represent different departments, which is indicated in the legend. Hover over the circles to obtain initiative count, division type, and fiscal year information. Filter by department in descending number of reported initiatives using the division filters. Filter by fiscal year using the year filters.
For example, for initiatives submitted by the ‘School of Pharmacy’ academic unit in fiscal year 2016, 5 initiatives were from the ‘ACADEMIC AFFAIRS’ department.

The graph below shows the participant count (i.e. number of people who participated in the initiative) (y-axis) relative to the total number of reported diversity initiatives (x-axis). Initiatives may only have one type and belong to only one department although it may have multiple sponsoring departments. The department responsible for the initiative is represented by each circle. Larger circles correspond to a greater number of initiatives. Different colors represent different departments, which is indicated in the legend. Click on the different colors in the legend to add or remove departments from the view. Hover over the circles to obtain initiative count, participant count, initiative type, and fiscal year information. Filter by initiative type using the drop-down menu. Filter by fiscal year using the year filters.
For example, for initiatives submitted by the ‘School of Pharmacy’ academic unit in fiscal year 2016, the ‘ACADEMIC AFFAIRS’ department had 5 reported diversity initiatives where the total participant count was 295.

The total number of reported diversity initiatives aggregated by major population served is shown below. Population served corresponds to the intended audience of the initiative. More than one sub-population can be selected per initiative. The sub-populations served is represented by each circle. Larger circles correspond to a greater number of initiatives. Different colors represent different served populations, which is indicated in the legend. Hover over the circles to obtain a breakdown of the sub-populations served, initiative count, and fiscal year information. Filter by each population served in descending number of reported initiatives using the served population filters. Filter by fiscal year using the year filters.
For example, for initiatives submitted by the ‘School of Pharmacy’ academic unit in fiscal year 2016, there were 5 initiatives where the population served was ‘Ability,’ 1 for ‘Employee,’ 5 for ‘Ethnicity,’ 5 for ‘Gender,’ 5 for ‘Race,’ 5 for ‘Sexual Orientation,’ and 5 for ‘Student.’

The graph below shows the total number of reported initiatives (y-axis) per the time since inception or founding date via the number of months (x-axis). Time since founding in months shows the longevity of a given initiative. Different colors represent different initiative types, which is indicated in the legend. Click on the different colors in the legend to add or remove initiative types from the view. Hover over the bars to obtain fiscal year and the number of initiatives broken out by initiative type. Filter by age (i.e. the ‘Last 12/36/60 Months’ or ‘All’) using the drop-down menu. Filter by fiscal year using the year filters.
For example, when accessed on 8/7/2020, for initiatives submitted by the ‘School of Pharmacy’ academic unit where the type was ‘Program’ and time since founding was the ‘Last 60 Months’ in fiscal year 2016, there was 1 initiative founded 59 months ago and 1 initiative founded 60 months ago. Note that these counts are subject to change, based on when you access the website.
